Chicago, March 1, 2006 -Danaher Industrial Controls (DICG) announces the BRE Series timer, a next generation electronic reset timer that takes flexibility and ease of use to new levels. The new generation BRE Series reset timers are micro processor driven, providing accurate adjustable time delay between the actuation of the control circuit and the operation of the load relays. The new BRE reset timer, like its predecessor, the BR1, offers an enclosed construction with front facing dial and knob. The new BRE has a heavy-duty terminal block with 9 screw terminals that will readily accept 16 gauge wire and commonly used in industrial circuit wiring. A new standard pilot light remains on during the timing period, times through a preset cycle and is then automatically or manually reset until it is restarted by an outside source.
Like its BR1 cousin, the BRE Series is most commonly used in industrial applications where automatic control of process time is required. The BRE housing is made of injection molded Lexan®. This durable plastic material is recognized by Underwriters Laboratories for use as the sole support of current carrying components. Lexan is self-extinguishing, has a high impact strength, and high dimensional stability.
Enhanced Accuracy & Reliability
The new solid state electronic BRE reset timers are Eagle-Signal’s response to a trend toward more functionality and reliability, with less mechanical parts to wear out. This new generation digital timer is designed to provide accuracy to 3% of full scale, repeatability of +/- ¼% of full scale and withstand industrial temperatures from -10° to 140°F (-23° to +60°C). Furthermore, this Eagle-Signal brand timer is UL (UL Recognition E61735), FM (FM Approval 15030) and CSA compliant (CSA Certification LR26861).
Economical – Low Cost of Ownership
The new BRE Series timer provides economical control at a lower installed cost than other timers with comparable features in their class. With solid state electronic circuitry and utilizing surface mount manufacturing techniques, the new BRE has far fewer moving parts than the BR1 that required periodic repair and maintenance.
Seamless Drop-In Replacement
The new generation BRE timer effectively replaces the mechanical version BR1 which will be phase out in the future. Users of the legacy BR1 model reset timers can easily drop in a new generation BRE into their existing applications with no fuss. The new generation electronic models have been designed to provide seamless transition and direct drop-in replacement capability for our customers both in wiring and operation. The new BRE is available in standard start as well as reverse start operation.
